The 3 lessons i am going to focus on in this essay is when power is given, then that power is only used to help oneself only and not to the good of the public, in the book absolute power creates corruption and corruption creates propaganda . These 3 lessons most affecting in the book, because after napoleon gets absolute power, he gets corrupted which leads him to changing everything to help himself up. So all these lessons have a connection with each other. The first lesson teaches us that when absolute power is given to one only then that power is not used for the publics good but for ones self only. A perfectly good example is when the squealer is convincing the animals that pigs have to eat apples and drink milk is for everyones good, because its scientifically proven that it contains substances absolute necessary for the wellbeing of a pig. Napoleon is misusing the power that he was given to make sure that he would be treated and fed like a king. This lesson is important because it teaches us when a person gains to much power, its first use it to make sure he/she is happy and satisfied. For example when Napoleon took away those dogs from jessie and bluebell, it could have been for the sake of protection from humans but instead those dogs were trained and used to help out napoleon get his way. Absolute power creates corporation, Napoleon and his pigs got corruption as they held the title of supremacy in the farm. To maintain there popularity with the other animals in the farm they had to change some of the rules so they wouldnt be accused of breaking the seven commandments, but this was done only with the help of squealer who was good with words . The new modified versions of Seven commandments is No animal shall drink alcohol to excess. No animal shall sleep in the beds with sheets. all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. But then the most important of all Four legs good and two legs better! stated that the pigs have gotten to become more like humans than they were before. This lesson is considered to be important because looking at napoleon after he had gotten absolute power started to change everything around to get to his own way and become the one who controls everything, where the animal are treated like slaves because of there incapabil ity to understand and change napoleons plans. Squealers as napoleon right hand and minister has convinced the animals to believe in napoleons corrupted plains. Squealer who is the backup pig for Napoleons uses rhetoric to convince animals that napoleon is always right. He uses propaganda to cover up all holes in their plain for example in the beginning squealer uses propaganda to explain to animals that if the pigs dont consume apple and milk then who would think for there safety and then Mr. Jones would come back. In this propaganda was used so the pigs would have apples and milk instead of other animals and again was used for ones selfishness. This is another important lesson learned in animal farm,because propaganda aim is to make someone believe something in particular, it can be both good and bad ways. But in animal farm propaganda is only used to backup Napoleon so his reputation is still maintained and for him to have order among the animals. In conclusion, those lessons are most important lessons because they shaped the story. The 3 lessons focused on were when power is given, then that power is only used for oneself only and not to the good of the public. Absolute power creates corporation and propaganda is used to help cover up. If these lessons were not there than the russian revolution would have never shaped out. There would be no politics in the world.

In this term paper we will compare two companies, Splash of Landmark Group and Hamp;M, two leading fashion retailers in UAE. We will individually analyse the marketing strategies of the two companies and compare them to see which one is more successful in the UAE market. We will also suggest some recommendations for developing their strategies. Both of these companies have equally done very well with their marketing strategies in the past and even better in the year of 2008 while being under the influence of the economies downfall. Sustainability has been the main marketing strategy that has made Hamp;M a highly successful business and continues to do so to this day . In the case of Splash, its marketing strategy consists of aggressive selling with various offers and promotions for its customers. The topic we have chosen to write about is important because Splash and Hamp;M are well-known companies that are popular amongst young consumers. Learning about each marketing strategy will help educate us better on where they stand in the apparel industry in reference to others we know about. Comparing Splash and Hamp;M hopefully will give us a better understanding about the two companies and how we can make their marketing strategies better. Hamp;M Evolution The history of Hamp;M started with a man named Erling Persson, who was a Swedish former salesman that became fascinated with Americaââ¬â¢s high-volume efficient outfits that Barneys and Macyââ¬â¢s carried. Persson first discovered the outfits when coming to the United States after World War II. Persson brought the retail concept ââ¬â that high turnover produced lower prices ââ¬â and brought it back with him to Sweden. It was then that Erling chose to open his own store which he called Hennes, standing for ââ¬Å"hersâ⬠in Swedish. During this time the store only sold womenââ¬â¢s clothing. The company Hennes was established in 1947 in Vasteras, Sweden and by 1968 Persson had purchased the menââ¬â¢s sportswear inventory and property of a Stockholm hunting equipment store which was named Mauritz Widforss. Erling Persson then changed the name of his store Hennes to Hennes amp; Mauritz to express the expansion, and later downgraded to just the abbreviations Hamp;M. By 1970 Hennes amp; Mauritz developed a childrenââ¬â¢s clothing line and by 1978 the store offered much of all family clothing. With Hennes amp; Mauritz offering a wide range of family clothing, it helped the company expand with the new generation of youth wanting to be able to express their individualities. Besides its Scandinavian base, Hennes amp; Mauritz expanded into the British market by by the later years of the 1990ââ¬â¢s Hamp;M realized that their company had better results in their European market than their Scandinavian market. In 2000 Hamp;M finally came to the United States after historically being a European brand and set its dominance. Hamp;Mââ¬â¢s is known for being of good quality and of good price. SPLASH Evolution Headquartered in Dubai, Splash is the Middle Eastââ¬â¢s largest fashion retailer and part of the Landmark Group, one of the biggest retail conglomerates in the Middle East and India. Founded in 1993 as a single brand store in Sharjah, Splash has grown to over 125 Splash stores and 50 branded boutiques across ten countries.
